Soldiering on

As I said in my previous post, I have been ill. So I was busting a gut to get out and get back into training. With conjunctivitis in one eye and coughing up a lung, I wasn't hoping for much. 10 mins in the thought did cross my mind to go home, but I soldiered on.

It was a sunny winter's morning, 2 degrees so nice and crisp.

I was nearing home by the end and decided that the length of time seemed to be the same as my last walk, so for the fun of it (!) I kept going and threw some nasty hills in there for good measure. That's the great thing about Guildford, no shortage of hill training.

Merrow Downs & Pewley Hill

Merrow Downs & Pewley Hill

Very hilly walk

As usual I took some pics along the way.

Merrow Downs - the first part of my walk

Bugs me when this happens! No way was I going to walk up there with no obvious footpaths. This is why I had to backtrack on myself twice on the map above.

The beautiful Pewley Downs. Amazes me that this is 5 mins out of the town centre of the biggest town in Surrey. It seems like proper countryside.

Little signs of Spring!

Our team has had a member pull out, but another member has replaced her. We have been busy thinking about fundraising ideas. As Easter is on the way a lot of it seems chocolate related which always helps people part with their cash!
